Introduction
GPUs have become commodity processors. Moreover, their performance has been increasing at a rate faster than CPUs and the trend is expected to continue in the foreseeable future. Using some of the features commonly available on commodity graphics processors we have developed GPU-based algorithms that accelerate line-of-sight (LOS) calculations and route planning by 10-100x. These techniques have been developed and then integrated into OneSAF. We have observed more than an order of magnitude improvement in OneSAF using these GPU-based algorithms.
